Dr. Dennis Ogiela

With over twenty-five years devoted to physical therapy care, Stephen has established himself as one of the most accomplished therapists in the area. He has the rare distinction among local physical therapists as having earned National Board Certification as an Orthopedic Specialist. His humble yet enthusiastic approach to care and treatment is energizing to his patients. He combines this with advanced knowledge and techniques in the area of orthopedic physical therapy, and through individualized manual care and exercise programs. Stephen achieves superior outcomes and patient satisfaction. Although demonstrating “all-star performance” in managing all kinds of conditions, he earns superior grades with sports injuries and joint problems, especially with shoulders and knees. Stephen received his B.S. in physical therapy from S.U.N.Y. Health Sciences Center in Syracuse and his M.S. in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac College.

Dr. Randolph Trowbridge attended Columbia University as an undergraduate where he received a B.A. in Religion. He furthered his studies at Columbia University earning an M.A. in Exercise Physiology. Upon graduation, he gained employment in healthcare-related fields. He later went on to attend New York Medical College and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Albert Einstein and Montefiore Medical Center more than 30 years ago earning his M.D. in Physiatry. Early on, he developed a passion for preventive and functional medicine and nutrition and has studied extensively and practiced medicine in these areas for the past 40 years--well before health and wellness was recognized and adopted by the medical community and healthcare systems. As a former athlete and exercise physiologist, he also specializes in sports medicine. Dr. Trowbridge is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Trowbridge began his formal career as a physician as the Associate Medical Director in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Danbury Hospital. He was also the Director of the Inpatient Rehab Department and WorkLab, and the Co-Director of the Wound Care Program. In 1986, Dr. Trowbridge founded Team Rehab in Danbury, Connecticut, where he continues to work as the Medical Director. He treats patients with a wide range of pain and dysfunction, primarily related to musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions. His focus is to find the generator of the patient's pain, turning it down in intensity or off, and then guiding the patient on how to minimize or eliminate recurrent episodes.

Dr. Trowbridge has been recognized on several occasions as “Best Doctor in Connecticut” in his specialty. Patients remark at the exceptional quality of care that Dr. Trowbridge and his associates provide. Dr. Trowbridge shares, “Clearly, the excellent patient outcomes are the direct result of a highly skilled and dedicated, caring and compassionate TEAM of professionals, of which I am just one part.”

Dr. Trowbridge has been an integral part of community service and advocacy. In 1997, he joined the Fairfield County Medical Association(FCMA), the Connecticut State Medical Society(CSMS), and the American Medical Association(AMA). He served as as a member of the FCMA Board if Trustees and its Executive Committee, advancing from Treasurer to Vice President to President. At the CSMS, he participated as a council member, and as a member of the workers compensation, quality of care, and public health committees. He served as a member of the Connecticut's State Innovation Model for Healthcare for 5 years, and is now on the Practice Transformation Task Force for Connecticut's Office of Health Strategy.

In the local community, Dr. Trowbridge organized and spearheaded the efforts that led to the Danbury Ice Arena and later served on the Pomperaug District Public Health Board of Directors. Currently, he serves at the Americares free medical clinics and as a member of Christian Community Outreach Ministries.

Janette started working with Team Rehab as a physical therapy aide in 2010. Inspired by the work of the Physical Therapists, Janette decided to become a Physical Therapy Assistant. She attended Norwalk Community College and graduated in 2014.

Janette further went on to become a Yoga Instructor also in 2014 and has advanced her studies in the LYT Yoga Method, requiring a 500 hour certification. The LYT method, created by a physical therapist, Lara Heimann, promotes a more sustainable movement practice. It emphasizes functional movement patterns, alignment, and intelligent sequencing. This biomechanically sound method is based on the three principles of physiology, kinesiology, and neurology.

Janette's enthusiasm and dedication to her patients as a Physical Therapy Assistant and her clients as a Yoga Instructor make her an invaluable addition to the Team Rehab family of providers.
