Dr. Randy Trowbridge

Dr. Randolph Trowbridge attended Columbia University as an undergraduate where he received a B.A. in Religion. He furthered his studies at Columbia University earning an M.A. in Exercise Physiology. Upon graduation, he gained employment in healthcare-related fields. He later went on to attend New York Medical College and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Albert Einstein and Montefiore Medical Center more than 30 years ago earning his M.D. in Physiatry. Early on, he developed a passion for preventive and functional medicine and nutrition and has studied extensively and practiced medicine in these areas for the past 40 years--well before health and wellness was recognized and adopted by the medical community and healthcare systems. As a former athlete and exercise physiologist, he also specializes in sports medicine. Dr. Trowbridge is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Dr. Trowbridge began his formal career as a physician as the Associate Medical Director in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Danbury Hospital. He was also the Director of the Inpatient Rehab Department and WorkLab, and the Co-Director of the Wound Care Program. In 1986, Dr. Trowbridge founded Team Rehab in Danbury, Connecticut, where he continues to work as the Medical Director. He treats patients with a wide range of pain and dysfunction, primarily related to musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions. His focus is to find the generator of the patient's pain, turning it down in intensity or off, and then guiding the patient on how to minimize or eliminate recurrent episodes

Dr. Trowbridge has been recognized on several occasions as “Best Doctor in Connecticut” in his specialty. Patients remark at the exceptional quality of care that Dr. Trowbridge and his associates provide. Dr. Trowbridge shares, “Clearly, the excellent patient outcomes are the direct result of a highly skilled and dedicated, caring and compassionate TEAM of professionals, of which I am just one part.”

Dr. Trowbridge has been an integral part of community service and advocacy. In 1997, he joined the Fairfield County Medical Association(FCMA), the Connecticut State Medical Society(CSMS), and the American Medical Association(AMA). He served as as a member of the FCMA Board if Trustees and its Executive Committee, advancing from Treasurer to Vice President to President. At the CSMS, he participated as a council member, and as a member of the workers compensation, quality of care, and public health committees. He served as a member of the Connecticut's State Innovation Model for Healthcare for 5 years, and is now on the Practice Transformation Task Force for Connecticut's Office of Health Strategy.

In the local community, Dr. Trowbridge organized and spearheaded the efforts that led to the Danbury Ice Arena and later served on the Pomperaug District Public Health Board of Directors. Currently, he serves at the Americares free medical clinics and as a member of Christian Community Outreach Ministries.

Dennis Ogiela, M.D. joined Team Rehab after more than twenty years in the practice of orthopedic surgery. Joining our staff in January of 2005, Dr. Ogiela provides individualized and comprehensive non-surgical treatment of musculo-skeletal disorders. Dr. Ogiela states, “Our practice focuses on state-of-the-art conservative treatment methods and will provide the highest quality of musculo-skeletal care through a combined orthopedic/physiatric approach.” Dr. Ogiela is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with Fellowship training in spinal disorders and certification in medical acupuncture. Dr. Ogiela received his M.D. from State University of New York at Buffalo. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.


Jill Maloney, P.T.

Jill has extensive experience as a clinician and instructor in the field of physical therapy. She co-authored a chapter for a book entitled Clinical Mastery in the Treatment of Myofascial Pain. For more than thirty years she has provided physical therapy for a broad range of conditions both orthopedic and neurological. She has distinguished herself in the treatment of chronic pain, especially head, neck, and facial pain as well as SI dysfunction. Patients and referring physicians alike have consistently acknowledged her exceptional results, which are clearly the result of uncommon skill, passionate dedication, and focused care. Additionally, Jill has participated as a guest faculty member for the “Travell Spray and Stretch Approach to Myofascial Pain and Trigger Point Dysfunction”. She received her Physical Therapy degree from the University of Vermont in 1985.


Stephen Merkle, M.S., P.T., O.C.S.

With over twenty-five years devoted to physical therapy care, Stephen has established himself as one of the most accomplished therapists in the area. He has the rare distinction among local physical therapists as having earned National Board Certification as an Orthopedic Specialist. His humble yet enthusiastic approach to care and treatment is energizing to his patients. He combines this with advanced knowledge and techniques in the area of orthopedic physical therapy, and through individualized manual care and exercise programs. Stephen achieves superior outcomes and patient satisfaction. Although demonstrating “all-star performance” in managing all kinds of conditions, he earns superior grades with sports injuries and joint problems, especially with shoulders and knees. Stephen received his B.S. in physical therapy from S.U.N.Y. Health Sciences Center in Syracuse and his M.S. in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac College.


Alyson Jamel Rosalita, D.P.T.

Alyson Jamel Rosalita joined Team Rehab in 2018. She earned a doctorate in physical thearpy in 2015 and specializes in working with patients with orthopedic issues, sports injuries, and neurological conditions. She has a passion for treating athletes as she was an avid soccer player in high school and college, and a member of the track team in high school. Her patients love her energetic and positive personality and her ability to motivate her patients to reach their maximum potential.


Hwajeong Lee, D.P.T., C.I.D.N.

Hwajeong Lee, P.T.

As a physical therapist for nearly 15 years in South Korea, Hwajeong Lee treated patients recovering from spinal, pelvic, and joint surgery by developing individualized exercise prescriptions and muscle training. She is fluent in Korean. She also treated sports injuries and acute pain disease, managed gait disorders, and treated pain-related geriatric disorders. For the past six years, she practiced in New York and Connecticut as a physical therapist and exercise physiologist. She is also certified in dry needling. Currently, Hwajeong works for Nuvance Health and mainly cares for geriatric patients as well as post-surgical home care. Also on the staff at Team Rehab, Hwajeong brings her many talents and broad range of experiences to help our patients in their recovery from pain and dysfunction. She has a special gift in motivating and supporting our patients in their personal journey from rehabilitation to recovery.


Wendy Merrick, P.T.

Wendy Merrick, P.T.

Wendy has been a team member of Team Rehab professional staff since 1994. She specializes in the treatment of myofascial pain syndrome and has strong manual skills and extensive training in aquatic therapy used to restore function in clients with diagnoses treated with physical therapy. Wendy is also skilled in muscle energy techniques. Wendy's blend of extensive training and practice in physical therapy combined with her natural gift in providing kind and compassionate care makes it easy to understand how patients and referring physicians seek her out as a therapist of choice.


Nicholas Bonoff, D.P.T.

Dr. Nick We are excited to add Nicholas Bonoff as our newest clinical staff team member this year! Nick graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Sports Science in 2017. He went on to continue his education at MCPHS University in Massachusetts where he received his degree as Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2021.

Nick has worked in multiple outpatient settings where he has treated patients ranging from elementary school aged children through geriatrics. Nick's strong background in exercise and sports strength and conditioning, nutrition, balance, posture, and gait training allow him to meet the needs of a wide range of ages and conditions. 

Nick's patients love his natural ability to motivate them to reach their goals. Nick listens to his patients and individualizes their programs to improve their function to the maximum potential. Nick blends his intuitive skills in meeting patients needs with genuine compassion and quality care. 

Outside of the clinic, Nick is an avid obstacle course racer, and enjoys the outdoors.
